Audition Prep: Willy Wonka Jr.!



You asked for it – you got it! This class is for anyone in Grades 2-9 wanting to improve their skills in musical theatre, with emphasis on how to audition. Beginners welcome!

Includes music, dance, and script reading, taught by the Willy Wonka Jr. director, music director, and choreographer.

Note: activities for this class will be the same as Audition Boot Camp in April, but using music and script fromWilly Wonka Jr. Students from that class are welcome back for a new experience!

Audition Boot Camp

Saturday, April 9, 2016, 12:00 – 4:00 pm

Take this class to help you out with your next try out!  With this audition prep class we will help you prepare yourself for your next audition by helping you pick the appropriate song to sing as well as work on your skills to give you a leg up on the dancing and acting portion of the audition.  We hope to build confidence that you need to put your best foot forward when you step into that audition room!

This class is for Grades 1 through 6 and will be especially helpful for first-time auditioners. Please note that this class is open to 1st Graders because The Little Mermaid auditions in April 2016 will be for those currently in 1st Grade through age 20 years. More info coming soon!

Have you taken a class before, but want more acting experience? Learn how to become your character.  Students will learn how to find their voice and play off of other actors while working on some of the best scenes from well-known plays.  Let us guide you to help make the right choices as an actor while on stage through this rigorous scene work. (Intermediate class, must have prior CTE experience or equivalent)

Broadway Bound

November 12, 2016, 12:00 – 4:00 pm.

Love musical theater?  This class will explore how to create a multi-dimensional character through song and explore some of the great musicals and musical theater actors out there.  Musical theater characters use songs to genuinely express emotions and tell their story.  Explore with us some of the great ‘divas’ in musical theater and learn how to develop the skills they embody through games, music and movement. (Intermediate class, must have prior CTE experience or equivalent)

Workshop cancellation and refund policy:

If CTE cancels a workshop class for any reason, parents will be notified immediately by email. Within five days, a rescheduled date and time will be sent by email to parents. If student is unable to attend on the rescheduled date, a full refund of fees will be provided by CTE, minus credit card fees that may have been paid.

If parents need to cancel a student’s workshop registration due to illness or other emergency, CTE will provide a refund of 75% of fees, minus credit card fees, if any. However, parent must contact the CTE office at 847-214-7152 to request the refund within five (5) days of the scheduled class to receive a refund.
